Who am I?

What makes me qualified to be writing about work at home moms?

My husband wholeheartedly supported my decision, but it soon became clear - particularly when we emigrated to his home country, the Bahamas - that getting by on a single income was going to be very difficult indeed.

I have done a variety of home based jobs, from envelope stuffing, to completing surveys, to freelance writing. And - like many moms looking to supplement the household income - I have been drawn into schemes that promised an awful lot more than they actually delivered!

Almost five years ago I came, by chance, across a company called SBI, which enables anyone with a passion to build a website. To be honest, I'd never even considered building a website before because I had absolutely NO IDEA how to do it!

Fortunately, SBI was created for novices like me and gave me the tools to create a site about a subject that's very close to my heart... homemade baby food. Hence my first website, www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com was born, and now receives many thousands of visitors every day, providing me with a healthy income with which to support my family.

At around the same time I also set up my baby gear rental service - my husband delivers the items to our customers and I take care of the rest of the business from home!

Making the decision to become a work at home mom is one that I've never regretted. In fact, I can't imagine having to go out to work (or answering to a boss!) ever again!

I love the freedom and flexibility that working from home provides and I love the fact that I am there whenever my children are sick, need help with school work... or simply have something funny to say!
