Build a Desk

So you think you want to build a desk? It really isn't as difficult to do as some people might think.

There are several ways to retrofit pieces of furniture you already have in your home, but thanks to the availability of plans on the Internet, it's easy to build a desk that can be customized just for you and your space.

Retrofit Existing Furniture

For a very simplistic desk solution, purchase a prefabricated top and table legs from the home improvement store and a keyboard tray from the office supply store and you can build a desk pretty quickly. Alternatively, add a keyboard tray to a dining room table and you automatically have a convenient desk!

Build a Desk Customized for Your Space

You'll need to consider a few things prior to making the decision to build your own customized desk. Price out what it's going to cost you to make the desk as opposed to purchasing a ready-to-assemble desk that is similar in design.

As long as you're OK with possibly spending more money on materials and more time building a custom desk, then perhaps one of these plans can help you create the ideal desk for your home.
