Free Recipes

These websites offer high quality, free recipes for the home cook. In an attempt to make the most of being a work at home mom and practice frugal living, having some great recipe resources at your fingertips is an absolute must!

What's more, everyone knows that cooking from scratch is both healthier for the whole family AND more cost effective. These are all websites I have personally used and recommend!

By far and away my favorite website for free recipes is www.simplyrecipes.com by Elise Bauer. She has hundreds of recipes, with loads of mouth-watering photos and plenty of helpful tips and comments from other visitors to help you perfect your culinary creations!

Another useful recipe site is AllRecipes.com. You can customize the recipes to fit how ever many servings you need. With a family as big as mine, I normally end up having to double standard recipes, but on AllRecipes.com I can put in the number of servings I need and it will give me the exact amount of everything to fix the amount I want.

Cooking.com also has some good recipes and is a resource I've used several times.

If you're a big fan of southern cooking (or would like to give it a try), then check out http://southernfood.about.com/.

And if cooking is your passion (as it is mine!), then do check out the masses of free recipes at www.epicurious.com! You'll find loads of ideas for the serious (and not so serious) chef.

You'll also find lots of free recipes on 'name brand' sites such as:

Kraft - http://www.kraftfoods.com/

Campbell - http://www.campbellkitchen.com/

Betty Crocker - http://www.bettycrocker.com/

Food Network - http://www.foodnetwork.com/

Often I will have Food Network on TV while I'm working and when I catch a show that has a recipe I like I can then go on Food Network.com, find the recipe I was watching - and print it off. It helps me to come up with ideas for supper and has to be the ultimate in multi-tasking... working, while watching or listening to TV for meal ideas!

I have some great frugal recipes here - and if you're also cooking for a little one, then please do visit my other website - www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com, which is packed with yummy free recipes for tiny diners!
