In most cases these companies will require a fee in order to provide you with a list of work at home opportunities - and invariably these opportunities themselves will not be legitimate.

So if you want to work at home and you don't have money to invest (or you don't want to if you do!), then what options are available to you?

Advertise your service at the local Laundromat, at your kids' school, in the local newspaper - anywhere that's likely to be seen by lots of busy moms or business professionals.

You don't need to be the next Stephen King - but if your writing skills are reasonably good, then you can put them to use writing for others. If you have a product to sell - or if you're simply an expert in something and would like to share your knowledge with others - then start your own website!

You can either make money from the sale of your product, or from the ads that you run for others on your information-only website. OK, so this isn't a job exactly - but it IS a way to make money from home. In fact, thanks to the internet it's extremely easy these days to enter a large number of contests in a very short period of time.

Some companies may want to just add a couple of magnetic signs to your vehicle - some may go a lot further and you'll have to prepare for the fact that your car may no longer look like your car! With the advent of the Kindle and other portable reading devices, e-books will surely be the next big thing! If your writing skills are reasonable (don't worry about your spelling - spell checkers will take care of that!) and you have a subject you know something about, then writing an e-book is as simple as typing your text into Word documents, then using free internet resources to convert those documents to PDF files for customers to download.

You can sell your e-book via companies like Payloadz, or approach the owners of websites in your 'niche' for ad space.
