If you have a topic that you feel passionate about and you feel you can come up with at least 30 articles of about 250-500 words each, then you can have an information-only website and earn an income from affiliates (advertising other people's products and receiving a commission if any are sold through your site) and contextual advertising (where you can get paid when ads are clicked - or sometimes even if they are just seen when someone visits your site). Many people earn very well with such websites.

If you think you can write a "paper" book and get it published, go for it. Books still sell, and if you are lucky enough to have one published, you could do very well. Constant Content - This site allows you to post and sell your articles. Your work must be well written, free from grammatical and spelling errors and using proper punctuation.
flexjobs.com - Flexjobs offers a variety of online work from home writing. The company was featured on CNN, so opportunities ARE legitimate - but please note that there IS a fee to join and look for work.

You've probably come across About.com many times before when researching various subjects online. Considered an 'authority' site on a range of topics, it is divided into different sections, each with their own 'guide' and team of contributing writers.

About.com regularly advertises many writing positions in various fields. The pay for 'guides' starts at a guaranteed minimum of $675 per month, with many earning much more - but the requirements for a guide are quite stringent.

If you need something a little less demanding, then consider becoming a contributing writer. New writers receive a guaranteed minimum of $500 per month, which increases with increased page views by visitors to the site.
