Work From Home: Beware of ScamsSadly, with these types of ads the answer is probably no. A lot of what you see advertised are scams. The number one red flag with these ads are if you are required to pay a fee to find out more, or to apply. A real "job" will not require an upfront fee, ever. These fees are how "they" - the person placing the ads - get rich.
If there are no up-front fees, be cautious of those who want to take advantage of you. A lot of the "work at home scams" know that some are desperate to find a way to work from home and they will find a way to milk the money out of you instead of helping you to earn it. Just be smart when looking into the "work at home businesses". If they sound too good to be true, normally they are. When looking at work from home job opportunities, be sure to find out the pay and the amount of hours you need to
actually work to receive that pay. Many of the scams will have you working hours and hours with little to no pay in the end.
Be particularly wary of "envelope stuffing" opportunities, which require the upfront fee mentioned earlier. These ads claim you can make thousands by stuffing envelopes for some obscure company. When you look into it, you see that there's a fee to get started. It's a rip-off! No matter WHAT the fee is claimed to be for, if it's a legitimate job offer, there should be no money exchanging hands except for them paying you! Period. Don't be taken in by glitzy promises that if you pay the "processing" fee or pay the fee for shipping, etc that you'll earn big bucks. The only person earning the big bucks is the person you are paying the fee to. Check with the Better Business Bureau (US and Canada) if you see an opportunity and want to know if it's legitimate. There actually ARE legitimate opportunities out there, you just have to find them. It's possible to work from home for others, it's possible to actually earn a decent doing so.
Just be sure to do your research and make sure the opportunities you encounter are REAL... and not your average work from home scam.
